Oil Sands Monitoring (OSM) Sites, 2019–2025

This geospatial dataset provides the locations and attributes of monitoring sites associated with the Oil Sands Monitoring (OSM) Program from fiscal years 2019–20 through 2024–25. The dataset includes monitoring activities across five environmental themes: Air, Surface Water, Groundwater, Wetlands, and Terrestrial Biological Monitoring (TBM). Site attributes include monitoring theme, program, work plan, station identification, station name, geographic coordinates, monitoring type, and fiscal year. The dataset supports visualization and analysis of the spatial and temporal distribution of monitoring activities, identification of monitoring sites by theme and program, and coordination and planning of environmental monitoring activities within the Oil Sands Region.

Usage Considerations or Constraints The dataset represents monitoring site records compiled from OSM work plans for fiscal years 2019–20 through 2024–25. Records indicate planned or reported monitoring activities and do not necessarily confirm that monitoring was completed or data were collected at each location. Sites may appear in multiple fiscal years or monitoring programs. Therefore, the total number of records should not be interpreted as the number of unique monitoring locations. Some records have missing station identifiers or names, and monitoring type classifications may vary across years and programs.
