Abstract:
This digital package comprises modelled elevation surfaces of the Quaternary Bonnyville Formation in the South Athabasca Oil Sands (SAOS) region in northeastern Alberta. This includes till units 1 and 2 and an inter-till sand.
Purpose:
To provide a model of elevation values of the Bonnyville Formation in the near-surface of the South Athabasca Oil Sands (SAOS) region.

Process Description:

Lithological picks were modelled by simple kriging in ArcMap 10.8.1. The extents of the subsurface units were determined by interpretation of well log data (DIG 2023-0021), and/or intersection of the modelled unit surface with the bedrock (DIG 2020-0022) and ground surfaces (LiDAR 15 m surface model). The grids were modelled at 675 m resolution.
